4 Mountain Towns March for Science

Why March for Science on Earth Day?

Those lucky enough to live in the mountains are critically aware of the value our natural environment plays in our quality of life, recreation and economy.  It is our obligation to protect this for future generations.

Protect Our Winter is a powerful organization mobilizing the outdoor sports industry against climate change.

“We all need winter” — POW states on their website

We need to act now to protect Colorado’s mountain communities from the economic effects of climate change. Colorado led the nation with almost 12 million skier visits per year. The 8% difference in Colorado skier visits in lower snowfall compared to higher snowfall years equals $154 million in lost revenue and 1,900 fewer jobs statewide.” – POW
