Design Assistant/Project Coordinator

Salary: $52,000-$65,000+ DOE plus generous bonuses

Essential Functions:

  • Develops design concepts and produces contract documents based on client needs
  • Assist other Project Coordinators with clients and work 
  • Meets with clients to program the project requirements
  • Takes accurate as-built measurements for developing floor plans and elevations
  • Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and fixtures
  • Presents design concepts and takes detailed notes to address customer requests
  • Creates project budgets and maintains up-to-date documentation of all activities
  • Manages the coordination and logistics of product deliveries and installation
  • Provides follow-up support with customers
  • Develops and maintains productive and effective relationships with customers
  • Effective communication as directed with crew, subcontractors, architects/engineers, clients, building officials, company administration and all project participants
  • Responsible for processing crew time sheets on a biweekly basis
  • Coding all invoices to correct budget divisions for the billing process
  • Applying for permits through town officials, communicating with town officials and providing payment when necessary
  • Assist with sourcing materials and vendors, procurement of materials and assist with logistics of receiving necessary materials to job sites
  • Providing administrative support to PM/Superintendents
  • Participate in client, subcontractor, crew, or vendor meetings as required
  • Use Microsoft Excel to for a variety of spreadsheet functions

Required Education and Experience:

  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and Google Suite
  • Experience with CAD or other interior design software
  • Ability to accept full-time assignments and be fully available during busy construction seasons
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Pass a background check

Preferred Education and Experience: 2+ years of experience with an interior design firm, general contracting company, or other closely related field Previous experience with interior design or high-end residential construction Problem solving skills Self-starter with the ability to follow through on all assignments Experience using PlanGrid, CoConstruct, BIM, or CAD Ability to read and understand architectural plans OSHA Certification Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in one of the following: Interior Design, Construction, Communications, Architecture, or other related field
