Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant manages day-to-day financial activities, maintaining the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and assists with audits and financial reporting. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the department’s goals.
Essential Functions:
· Assist with maintaining the integrity and completeness of general ledger and financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Process and maintain accurate records by recording day-to-day financial transactions
· Conduct monthly reconciliations: cash, balance sheet, investment, and credit cards
· Process all facets of accounts payable; includes managing AVID software platform, paying invoices timely and accurately, vendor management, and 1099 processing
· Assist with month-end processing including journal entries, credit cards, accruals, donor reconciliations, revenue postings, sales tax, reimbursements, petty cash, and other monthly requirements
· Responsible for recording Tessitura revenue transactions and reconciling to daily cash log
· Process accounts receivable and deposit transactions
· Assist with developing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures
· Collaborate with budget managers to ensure accurate general ledger postings
· Assist with year-end audit and support completion of PBC list
· Support SVP of Finance & Admin with ad hoc requests
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
1-5 years’ experience
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment (depending on position)
Compensation:
Salary $65,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience
