Production Intern Job Description:

Delta Brick & Climate Company is a startup climate-tech and manufacturing company that is working to make the most sustainable tile and paver products on the market. We are small and growing. Our team is tight knit, highly collaborative, and looking for an attentive production worker to join as an intern.

Successful candidates will be motivated, have strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills. A good production intern has the ability to learn new tools and manufacturing processes unique to working with clay. You should be able to understand product specs and the quality expected from the client.

This position would be perfect for someone looking for experience in the manufacturing industry. It is a great opportunity to learn about sustainability, startup businesses, and product development. It would also be a good fit for a full time student looking for a part-to-full time job.

Production Intern Responsibilities:

● Switch on and set up equipment at the start of shifts and switch off equipment at the end of shifts. ● Working individually on certain production tasks, and collaboratively on others. ● Flexibility to switch between orders and production tasks throughout the day/week. ● Managing materials and inventory needed for production. ● Managing regular equipment and tool maintenance and scheduling repairs. ● Sorting materials and packing products. ● Evaluating personal performance and requesting training as needed. ● Evaluate product quality during manufacturing and end stages. ● Ensure that the workspace is clean and organized. ● Keep a record of daily production, goals, and tasks. ● Ensure that health and safety laws are followed.

Production Intern Requirements:

● Attention to detail and consistency. ● Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. ● Concentration and ability to follow instructions. ● Experience in manufacturing is helpful but not required. ● Capable of lifting 30 lbs regularly. ● Ability/willingness to operate manual and power tools. ● Ability to learn tools and processes used in manufacturing tile and pavers. Previous experience not required.

Additional Job/ Organization Details:

● Work schedule is typically 9:30-5:30, with reasonable flexibility. ● Pay is $15-20 per hour, depending on experience. ● Internship will be 20-40 hours per week: We’ll work with your schedule. ● Internship will run 3 to 6 months. The start date and length are flexible. ● Supervised by Director of Production and Founder. ● Training will be provided. Questions are always encouraged, and open communication is valued. ● Our small team wears lots of hats and takes on challenges not initially in anyone’s job description. There is always opportunity for additional responsibility and growth in this position.

Intern Education Opportunities:

● Intern will see all facets of a vertically-integrated manufacturing company, from mining through product delivery. ● Intern will learn about climate change and climate change mitigation strategies. ● Intern will tour the surface of former mine sites and understand mining reclamation. ● Intern will learn basic materials science as it pertains to ceramics manufacturing.
