Salary: Maintenance Tech IV- Hiring Range: $28.85-$34.61. The maximum pay for this position is $40.38. Maintenance Tech V- Hiring Range: $31.15-$37.38. The maximum pay for this position is $43.61.

Performs various mechanical maintenance and repair duties to efficiently operate the county’s facilities and grounds and keep them in proper repair and safe for public use. Serves as backup for Lead Mechanical Technician for computerized and mechanical BAC control that includes monitoring, establishing solutions and repair of HVAC systems for all county facilities.

The Facility’s Department mission is to provide high-quality maintenance and repair for a safe, clean, productive and well-maintained physical environment for Eagle County Government buildings, grounds and fairgrounds.

Eagle County Government is looking to fill one position, however, we are willing to consider applicants of all levels. See the descriptions & qualifications for all levels of Maintenance Techs, below.

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday; on-call rotation and some overtime for snow removal and Fair & Rodeo event.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:

  • Minimum Work Experience: Five years maintenance or construction experience; or, any combination of education and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    Skilled trades position (hvac, plumbing, electrical experience/duties but no license)
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Training: New hires can complete this training with their first year of employment (BOC Fundamentals not necessary for a new hire)
    • Completed BOC Level 1 Training
    • Competed Safety Training
    • Completed Equipment Operator Training
    • Completed two of four following EC training courses (Transition into Leadership, Navigating Critical Conversations, Creating Exceptional Customer Experiences, or Communication Skills in the Workplace)

Qualifications

  • Licensed Journeyman in either Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC.

  • Training: New hires can complete this training with their first year of employment (BOC Fundamentals not necessary for a new hire)
    • Completed BOC Level 1 Training
    • Competed Safety Training
    • Completed Equipment Operator Training
    • Completed two of four following EC training courses (Transition into Leadership, Navigating Critical Conversations, Creating Exceptional Customer Experiences, or Communication Skills in the Workplace)
