Hiring Range: $67,105- $80,526. The maximum pay for this position is $93,946.

Under general supervision, this position implements complex open space improvement projects, performs professional work of technical difficulty, and provides expertise for developing innovative and strategic land management solutions. Monitors, inventories and maintains open space properties and public uses, and facilitates efforts to create, protect, and conserve Eagle County Open Space (ECOS) properties.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and execute: Develop and implement improvement projects based on specific management plans.
  • Collaborate: Work with staff, contractors, and the public to bring projects to life.
  • Secure funding: Seek grants, partnerships, and agreements to support open space goals.
  • Engage the community: Create outreach materials and campaigns to raise awareness.
  • Ensure safety: Adhere to safety procedures and report any potential hazards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Natural Resource Management, Recreation, Open Space Planning and Administration, or related field.
  • Familiarity with concepts of Recreation Management, Conservation, Public Lands, and Open Space Planning.
  • Three or more years of applicable work experience.
  • Knowledge of local government open space program standards and procedures.
  • Past experience in Open Space Management, Conservation, and Recreation
  • Planning for various user groups and between Land Management Agencies and Jurisdictions is required.
  • Familiarity with local trails, land management agencies, stakeholder groups, and recreation patterns is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.
