About the Role
As a Bus Driver – Trainer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and professionalism of our transportation team. You’ll train and evaluate new and existing drivers while assisting in the supervision of other trainers. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of student transportation safety, efficiency, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Train & certify new bus drivers in classroom and road settings
• Provide ongoing training for regular and substitute drivers
• Develop & deliver training for activity operators
• Monitor and evaluate drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Assist with hiring & interviews for transportation employees
• Conduct parent-student safety training and public safety programs
• Support driver evaluations, in-services, and workshops
• Stay up-to-date on transportation laws, regulations, and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve route issues in collaboration with leadership

Who You Are

• Experienced Driver: Minimum 4 years of bus driving experience (1 year in ECSD preferred)
• Strong Communicator: Effective written and oral communication skills
• Leader & Trainer: Passion for teaching and coaching drivers
• Regulation-Savvy: Knowledge of DOT, CDL, CDE, and ECSD policies
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience as a trainer
