Schedule: 216 days

Position Summary
The Director of Health Services promotes student success by leading and supporting district school nurses, reducing health-related barriers to learning, and advancing the mission of ECSD Health Services.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of district nursing services
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations
Support and guide school nurses in delivering effective student care
Collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to support student success
Provide leadership, training, and professional development for nursing staff
Stay current on healthcare laws, regulations, and best practices
Manage 504 plan health components
Oversee hiring, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff
Administer department budget and maintain supply inventory
Coordinate training and support for Health Assistants

Qualifications

National Board Certified School Nurse (NBSCN) preferred
RN license and Master’s in Nursing (MSN)
Colorado Department of Education School Nurse/Special Service Provider license
Minimum 5 years of successful school nursing experience
Knowledge of healthcare laws, Colorado Nurse Practice Act, and evidence-based practice
Experience working with diverse populations
BLS certification and valid Colorado driver’s license
