PM CUSTODIAN – VSSA

Position Summary:
Perform housekeeping and custodial services to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of buildings and grounds, including walkways, windows, and classrooms.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, lounges, and other areas according to established schedules.
• Perform specialized cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors.
• Complete cleaning and reset tasks following special events or during vacation periods.
• Identify and use appropriate cleaning materials and tools as directed.
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs, repairing lockers and furniture, and inspecting equipment.
• Submit cleaning supply orders and maintain records for the central plant and kitchen equipment.
• Ensure building security at the end of the shift.
• Report maintenance needs or issues to the supervisor and assist with minor repairs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Custodian, Building Principal, or Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant job experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform all job functions, including lifting, bending, and operating cleaning equipment.
• Willingness to follow directions and complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to read and speak limited English.
