Join the premier Beaver Creek slopeside destination managed by East West Hospitality, where we are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our strategic engineering initiatives. In this critical role, you will focus on planning, optimizing, and managing all maintenance activities to ensure our property maintains its reputation for excellence.
As Chief Engineer, you will drive the strategic vision for the maintenance and improvement of building systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. Your responsibilities will extend to designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of engineering projects and systems that enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency. You’ll conduct research, analysis, and simulations to solve complex problems, ensuring that our property’s infrastructure is both innovative and reliable. You’ll also manage and inspire a dedicated team of engineers, providing the leadership and technical guidance needed to maintain and optimize our property’s infrastructure.
This position involves developing technical documentation, specifications, and standards to guide your team in maintaining and optimizing the property’s systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure the highest standards are met. Compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations will be a key focus, ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests and staff.

Start Date: 9/3/2024
Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round.
Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience; $5,000 sign-on bonus (1/2 paid after 3 months of work; 1/2 paid after 6 months of work).
Schedule: 5 days per week, including Saturdays, on-call availability required and some holidays.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil) or a related field is strongly preferred. Alternatively, candidates with 4+ years of equivalent experience in Engineering or Maintenance Management will also be considered. A strong background in engineering principles is essential, as well as experience in planning, optimizing, and managing maintenance activities within a hotel or timeshare property.
The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of designing, developing, and overseeing engineering projects, with a combination of office-based work (e.g., design, analysis, project management) and fieldwork (e.g., site visits, testing, implementation). Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and problem-solving abilities are critical. Experience managing capital projects, developing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations is required. Collaboration with various departments, including Operations, Finance, and Human Resources, is essential to align engineering objectives with overall business goals.
