About This Job

The Manager of People & Culture (P&C) is a member of a highly collaborative team that provides a variety of human resource functions to support team members and operational needs across the Glacier Park Collection (GPC), an experience by Pursuit.  This role is a strong #2 to the Director of P&C, providing expertise and coverage in a variety of areas.  From sourcing & recruiting, to training & orientation, to on-and off-board of staff, to employee relations, this is an essential full-time role in the P&C structure.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in the development of strategies and action plans that ensure P&C is able to help manage and grow the business.
  • Assist in development and ongoing management of the annual P&C budget.
  • Assist with the sourcing, recruiting and hiring of staff.
  • Assist with welcome orientations, ongoing training programs and development planning for staff.
  • Meet regularly with staff to ensure high levels of engagement, alignment with company values, and the creation of a meaningful culture.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, problem-solving, disciplinary discussions, and terminations.
  • Execute reward & recognition programming to ensure staff feel appreciated and thanked.
  • Assist with ongoing processing of reports, programs and other planning in support of P&C initiatives.
  • Serve as a #2 backup for the Director whenever needed to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal and external partners.
  • Provide regular support for all other managers and supervisors across GPC to ensure a sense of collaboration, teamwork, and to drive efficiency and results.

Experience And Skills You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent work experience required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ of work experience in a people-related or HR role required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Excel, PPT, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience using ADP WorkforceNow or similar HRIS desirable.
  • Some experience working in or around payroll & benefit processes desirable.

Note about work location:

The People & Culture Manager provides HR coverage on the “East side of Glacier” during the summer operating season.  Private housing is provided free of charge in East Glacier to support this summer coverage need.  Willingness to work for approximately 20 summer weeks on the east side of the National Park is required.  The east side is approximately a 90-minute drive from Whitefish, MT and it is common for our People & Culture staff to provide support at various times on both east and west sides.  However, the East Glacier operation is a summer-only business.  Off-season office is available in Columbia Falls.
