Primary Function
The Chief Executive Officer provides overall leadership, vision, and strategic direction for Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality and profitable operations; delivering an exceptional guest experience; fostering a strong workplace culture; protecting and growing corporate assets; and upholding the mission, reputation, and long-term interests of the owners and Board of Directors.
The CEO leads, directs, and coordinates all facets of the organization — including, but not limited to pools, aquatic attractions, accommodations, athletic club, food & beverage, retail, facilities, maintenance, administrative departments, and outside investments to ensure sustainable performance and operational excellence.
Reporting and Accountability
The Chief Executive Officer reports to, and is accountable to, the President & Chairman of the Board and the Board of Directors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting during meetings or working at a computer).
- Ability to navigate the Resort to inspect facilities and attend events, including movement through areas reached by stairs, and to tolerate outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, and humidity. Reasonable accommodations are available.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry items up to 10–20 lbs. (e.g., documents, laptop, presentation materials).
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, preferred.
Other Requirements
- Minimum 5 years executive-level or senior operational leadership required.
- Experience engaging with municipalities, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders required.
- Progressive leadership experience in aquatics, hospitality, resort management, recreational destination, or similarly complex multi-department environments preferred.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and diverse operational units.
- Demonstrated experience with financial management, strategic planning, and operational oversight.
Work Hours and Days
The CEO may typically work weekday daytime hours; however, due to the Resort’s year-round, 24/7 operations and dynamic business needs, work hours and days may vary and can include weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional last-minute needs or emergencies.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Lead the business, decisions, and affairs of Glenwood Hot Springs Resort under Board-delegated authority.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board , fostering a transparent and collaborative relationship; provide timely, comprehensive updates on organizational performance, emerging risks, strategic opportunities, and matters requiring Board review or approval.
- Create long-term and short-term operating plans and drive alignment on organization-wide strategies, priorities, and goals.
- Represent the organization with external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with board on company policies, corporate direction, and cultural standards, and exercise sound judgment in implementing decisions that reflect organizational values and strategic priorities.
- Ensure protection of corporate assets, reputation, and legal interests.
Operational Oversight, Guest Experience, Safety & Compliance
- Oversee all Resort operations: pools, aquatic attractions, accommodations, athletic club, F&B, retail, facilities, maintenance, and administrative departments.
- Develop and execute operating plans aligned with corporate objectives and financial targets.
- Champion a guest-focused culture delivering exceptional hospitality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead major capital projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Implement and leverage technology systems to enhance operational efficiency and support long-term profitability.
- Oversee legal matters in coordination with legal counsel.
Leadership, People Management & Culture
- Foster and retain a strong leadership team; clarify and ensure documentation of roles and expectations.
- Promote a culture of trust, respect, inclusion and accountability.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range for this position is $225,000 – $325,000 annually, and negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
