As a member of the Construction team, the Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily construction activities of the job site including management and oversight of all persons working on site. The Foreman reports to the Director of Construction and provides leadership and oversight to 2-3 AmeriCorps members and/or Apprentices.
Responsibilities include participation in the development of the construction program; collaboration with Construction Team to develop project schedule; oversight of subcontractors, staff, and volunteers; management of safety programs and site maintenance; maintaining tools, equipment, and materials inventory, completion of technical construction tasks; and fostering an inclusive, engaging and positive culture at the job site.ย

Qualificationsย
General knowledge of all phases of residential construction.ย
Previous hands-on experience in residential carpentry.ย
Familiarity with green building strategies.ย
Ability to read and interpret all construction documents, including architectural and engineering drawings, site plans, and technical specifications.ย
Demonstrated coaching and/or leadership experience.ย
Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.ย
Experience with MS office applications and MS Project preferred. ย
Valid driverโs license, clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicle.ย
Conversational Spanish speaking ability preferred.ย
Physical Requirements: The Construction Foreman must be able to meet the heavy physical demands of working on a construction site, including but not limited to heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and use of heavy machinery and power tools.ย
Working Conditions: The Construction Foreman understands that the working conditions of the job site include natural hazards (weather conditions) as well as hazards typical for construction sites, the operation of vehicles, tools or equipment and intense physical labor.
Schedule: The Construction schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 8:0am-5:00pm. Schedules may vary throughout the year. Saturday work is expected year-round, and especially between Memorial Day and Labor Day during the peak volunteer and building season.ย
Compensation & Benefitsย
The compensation range for this position is currently $28.00-$33.50 hourly. Initial compensation is determined based on the successful applicantโs qualifications and experience.ย Benefits offered include health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan with 6% employer match, up to 6 weeks of vacation, holiday, and sick time, paid medical leave and more.ย
