Role Summary:

Join our team as Area Director of Sales (Area DOS) for three of our most exciting resorts in the Western Mountain Region. Hotel Jerome, an iconic historical boutique hotel in Aspen, Colorado, Madeline Hotel & Residences located in Mountain Village of Telluride that was recently awarded Forbes Five Star and Element 52, our condominium property in Telluride town side. In this key role for the properties, we are looking for a candidate who has experience strategically leading and motivating a sales team and has working knowledge of all aspects of sales- catering, leisure and group. They will work in tandem with our Area Director of Marketing to bring the extraordinary experiences of our properties to life, in sales efforts targeted to the luxury traveler.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for driving top line revenues in all sales segments – leisure, group and catering
  • Provide strategic oversight of sales managers to ensure targets are being achieved
  • Understand market trends, create demand generation, find ways to shift market share and work closely with revenue management
  • Develop and implement a business plan for both hotels in tandem with the director of marketing as well as the annual sales budget to ensure hotels are achieving revenue targets
  • Work closely with the executive team at both hotels to ensure alignment of operational goals 
  • Strong understanding of Smith Travel Report (STR), Financial P&L, mix of sales, forecasting, group pace, group and catering contracts, addendums, and food/beverage spend for groups
  • Develop and manage key strategies for all disciplines and create action plans for key accounts for business growth and development
  • Develop sales goals for all managers
  • Guide sales team on travel and sales activities
  • Comfortable presenting to ownership and home office each hotel’s sales priorities and budgets, forecasts as needed
  • Travel to the properties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment
  • Demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in hotel environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience selling multiple properties or brand.
  • Prior experience in international hotels/resorts
  • Prior experience working in a remote sales office setting.
  • Prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure / Transient

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel domestically to promote collection at trade shows or regional sales missions.
  • Travel to resorts as requested for sites, meetings and travel professional related fams.
  • Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.
  • Travel to assist with limited on site coverage as needed.
