Preschool Kitchen Manger

General Position Description
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the planning, preparation, and service of breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. The kitchen manager ensures all meals contain creditable foods and align with meal patterns and nutritional guidelines of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, CACFP.

This position reports to Katie Bunnelle, Director.

Key Responsibilities
·         Plan and submit monthly menus to include creditable breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

·         Manage shopping lists and ordering from all vendors.

·         Shop local grocery store as needed.

·         Maintain record of receipts for all expenses.

·         Maintain documentation of product compliance.

·         Prepare and serve 3 meals a day to staff and children according to schedule.

·         Provide dietary substitutions as requested by physician/parents.

·         Post daily meals and portions on the menu board.

·         Maintain system for inventory and organization.

·         Maintain an organized, clean kitchen.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
·         Maintain appropriate professional relationships with administration, staff, and parents.

·         Completion of CACFP Institution Training Series

·         Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

·         Application of USDA Food Buying Guide Calculator

·         Knowledge of Colorado Healthier Meals Initiative

·         Knowledge of CACFP Bits and Bites Newsletters and Procedure Memos

·         Collaborate with administration to deliver annual staff training.

·         Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
