Mountain Recreation is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all maintenance activities within our facility, ensuring that equipment and systems are maintained in good working order and that safety regulations are followed.

POSITION DETAILS
Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator
Location: District-wide • Gypsum Recreation Center (Gypsum, CO), Gypsum Creek Pool (Gypsum, CO), Eagle Pool and Ice Rink (Eagle, CO)
Schedule: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Work Environment: Works indoors at Mountain Recreation facilities and outdoors at sports complexes. Work hours will vary, including evening hours, split shifts, and weekends. Position is required to work on-call hours.

- Frequent exposure to the sun, wet and/or humid conditions, or other outdoor weather conditions
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic, or caustic chemicals (such as paint, pesticides, chlorine)
- Exposure to moderate levels of noise
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds.
- Physical exertion includes frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, repetitive hand and foot motion, sitting, and traversing rough and uneven terrain.
Supervision Required: Works under the general guidance and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: Works with Maintenance Supervisor to supervise part-time and seasonal technicians
Salary: $52,519 – $65,649 annually DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Statement of Duties: Performs elevated duties of facility maintenance including facility and pool maintenance and repair at Mountain Recreation facilities.
Examples of Duties:
- Performs general plumbing maintenance, repair and alteration to water, air and sanitary plumbing. Repairs and replaces valves, restroom fixtures, leaks, drinking fountains and clears drain stoppages.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures, water heaters, faucets, and valves.
- Maintain and replace electrical fixtures to include but not limited to, receptacles, GFI, ballast, wiring, fans, motors, and pumps.
- Maintains indoor pool and spa, and outdoor pools. Seasonal prep and winterization, maintain chemical balances, troubleshoot mechanical issues, back wash, and general cleanliness practices.
- Performs semi-skilled to skilled pool repair duties including changing belts, tires, or other basic components on pool vacuums, pumps, motors, filters, valve piping, tubing, and gauges.
- Troubleshoots and repairs chlorinators as needed.
- Communicates openly and constructively with supervisor and district employees to enable efficient decision-making and positive morale.
- Maintains equipment in clean and safe condition, always operate equipment safely.
- Maintains knowledge of trends within recreation by attending conferences and training classes.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor/Technicians with any special maintenance projects that arise.
- Performs snow removal and ice control duties.
- Assists with set up, operation, and tear down of special events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of: Basic knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods used in facility, park, and pool maintenance repair and construction.
Skills and abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public recreation.
- Knowledge of the sociological and psychological needs of various groups participating in recreation programs and activities.
- Knowledge of modern management methods and practices.
- Skill in the use of computer, computerized recreation administration programs, and various applications programs.
- Ability to oversee volunteers and assigned staff.
- Ability to assign coordinate, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinates.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to represent the district and Mountain Recreation staff in a professional manner.
Tools and Equipment Used: Small hand tools for small facility maintenance tasks, phone/walkie – talkie, chemical test kits, pool vacuum, brushes, pressure washer, and various cleaning materials.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; AND
- Four (4) years of applicable experience; OR
- Equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- One (1) year experience leading or supervising a crew; OR
- Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the above-described work.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean MVR record – no major driving infractions in the last seven years.
Certifications:
- CPO or AFO preferred, or to be obtained within the first year of employment.
- May require possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
