Marketing and Events Manager
Position Summary
This position supports the mission of Mountain Youth, “to continuously and collaboratively improve the lives of youth in the most powerful ways possible”. The focus of this role is to build community awareness of Mountain Youth’s programs, initiatives, and efforts and encourage participation through diverse marketing strategies. This role will support the execution of Mountain Youth events and coordinate promotion of Mountain Youth at partner events.

• Support fundraising efforts and sustainability strategies to maintain the work of the overall organization
• Participate in regular one-on-one, team, and committee meetings to align different efforts and resources across the organization
• Represent Mountain Youth through collaborative projects as needed
• Willingness and commitment to prevention specialist training and professional development
• Maintain Mountain Youth internal database, contact management, and tracking systems
• Support with other Mountain Youth projects, communication strategies, and events as needed
• Perform general office duties and other duties as assigned
Position Responsibilities:
Focus Area 1: Marketing & Communication
Goal- Strengthen the Mountain Youth brand and increase engagement with programs and services.
• Develop and coordinate a strategic marketing plan and materials with youth, team members, community partners and stakeholders:
o Generate consistent talking points, fact sheets, and messaging strategies that supports the Mountain Youth brand
o Work directly with youth on communication strategies and efforts that improve youth recruitment and engagement, promotion of projects and positive health behaviors, and reach of positive social norms campaigns
o Develop and maintain current organizational content, including website, informational guides, annual reports, data dissemination materials, and other materials
o Develop with youth and team members social media and marketing content including designing graphics for all social media posts, advertisements, flyers,
or external documents
o Develop campaigns surrounding events, organization efforts, general marketing, and Colorado Gives Day
o Draft press releases highlighting organizational efforts, programs, and community opportunities
o Create, design, oversee and film all in-house video production
• Coordinate and execute the organization’s monthly newsletter:
o Facilitate writing of monthly Difference Maker and Youth Spotlight articles and recording of radio spots
• Build brand awareness with community members and supporters:
o Support communication efforts with supporters, including participating in the CO Gives Day process, review of profile, and execution of the annual appeal letter and process
o Manage, design, purchase incentives utilized for branding
• Maintain strategic marketing relationships:
o Collaborate with graphic design contractors
o Cultivate partnerships, including and not limited to media contacts, Vail Valley Partnership, and sponsors
• Build an archive of content and track successes of engagement:
o Process and track analytics from social media, website and newsletter touch points
o Collect and build an archive of photography and video footage by attending events, programs, and meetings
• Maintain and produce the Community Resource Directory and manage sponsorships
o Work with team members and volunteers to review directory listings and update for online and print publication
o Manage sponsorships and advertisements to be included in the print directory
Focus Area 2: Events and Community Engagement
Goal – Build community connection opportunities and strengthen Mountain Youth visibility through
community events and programs.
• Facilitate all community events (live, virtual, and hybrid), including planning,
implementation and follow-up
o Develop and maintain an annual calendar of special events, including community events, fundraising events and trainings
o Develop and maintain event timelines and action plans
o Coordinate event personnel that include staff and volunteers
o Produce all event messaging, marketing and advertising efforts
o Maintain all vendor, partner, and venue communication
o Facilitate silent auction donation solicitation
• Support program events, leading aspects such as technology and communications
o Set-up registration process, webinar, and reports when applicable (Zoom, Facebook Live and other platforms)
o Facilitate technology from start to finish of event for virtual and hybrid events
o Support efficient and effective post-event communication items
o Support with logistics for fundraising and broad organization-wide events
• Coordinate event sponsor relationships
o Lead creation of sponsorship packets, benefits tiers outlines, fulfillment of benefits, including advertising and collateral material.
o Support in soliciting sponsorships and community partnerships
o Recruit and manage relationships and fulfillment with sponsors
• Represent Mountain Youth at committee and community meetings as needed, including Colorado Gives Day Committee.
Additional Qualifications:
Interest in and commitment to positive youth, family and community development, as well as overall community health and safety. Bilingual English/ Spanish language speaking and multicultural preferred. Experience in nonprofit organizations, community building, youth development, and health
& safety strategies preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

• Innovative and creative; ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs, resources and requirements
• Strong public speaking skills and comfort in community settings with diverse partners and stakeholders

• Strong organization skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft office programs, social media, and graphic design tools
• Experience working with diverse populations and education and commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices
• Willingness to commit to a flexible schedule, including weeknight and weekend commitments as needed
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Eagle River Valley and occasionally regionally and statewide for meetings, programs, and events
Compensation and Benefits:
• This salaried position is full time, averaging 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work commitments are expected. This position is based in Eagle County.
• The starting compensation range is $55,000-$65,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
