JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
Responsible for planning and supervising multiple estimating activities for the Company in accordance with Director of Pre-Construction’s direction and policies, providing technical and administrative direction to ensure corporate objectives are met.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Collaborate with corporate marketing, and Director of Preconstruction to prioritize and assess those projects on which to bid.
2) Implements strategies and techniques to ensure award of projects bid. This responsibility requires
review and analysis of proposal specifications, drawings, and participation in pre-bid meetings, etc. in order to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
3) Prepare and/or review accurate cost estimates at the conceptual, schematic, and design development
level to meet the design intent. Prepare all final estimate packages for company and client use, ensuring all necessary back-up data and documentation is accurate and complete.
4) Responsible for contacting potential clients, designers, architects, and owner’s reps to assure invitation
to bid. Plays a significant role in Company management’s sales team presentations.
5) Develop and maintain accurate preconstruction and preliminary construction schedules.
6) Responsible for ensuring the Company is managing the long term warranty risk of any given project, through constructability review and analysis.

SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Responsible for developing accurate and detailed project budget and schedule, and manages project to assure adherence thereto. Monitors project budget variances throughout entire design progress and
makes recommendations to project team and owners, in order to bring project budget deviances back on track.
2) Acts as Company liaison with the design team in order to meet the owners’ design and construction
schedules. Perform constructability analysis on project documentation and works with design team to develop appropriate conclusions.
3) Develop and analyze detailed value engineering options, and make recommendations to the client as necessary to meet the project budget.
4) Participate in internal monthly meetings to review project status.
5) Assist in the selection of sub-contractors.
6) Assists Director of Preconstruction with software selections, implementations and maintenance
7) Monitor and manage preconstruction services agreements.
8) Monitor and assist with billing of preconstruction agreements if the project has one

OTHER TASKS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
Perform additional tasks as required by the operating needs of the Project Manager and/or
Superintendent.

SUPERVISION:
Works under minimal supervision

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Occasionally will supervise an Assistant Estimator or Estimator, depending on the project

Education:
1) 4 year degree, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
Experience:
1) 5 plus years working in a similar construction environment, especially in the area of estimating

12) Ability to think strategically and align with company goals.
13) Job requires visitation and/or work at offices, client or job sites, so must be able to drive or to use alternative transportation services to assure timely attendance for such work visits.
