Role Summary

Responsible for supporting the kitchen with all food preparations for the guests of The Riverwalk Theater, as per RWT Standards. The Prep Cook/Team member is expected to work with fellow staff in an efficient manner and play an integral role in the preparation and cooking of all food items. This position is expected to be efficient and organized while adhering to all food safety standards. 

Responsibilities for Prep/Line Cook

Assist the kitchen by adequately receiving, storing, and caring for food items
Assist kitchen in doing inventory as needed
Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use and properly maintained and cleaned 
Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times
Prepare meats, salsas, and sauces per RWT Standards
Prepare all food station ingredients per RWT Standards
Gather/Organize food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required
Cook to order all RWT menu items per RWT Standards
Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen
Cleaning
Trash and recycling removal
Dishwashing

Qualifications for Prep/Line Cook

Experience working as a prep/line cook in a fast-paced environment
Basic knife skills
Proven multitasking and organizational skills
Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety, and clean hygiene practices
Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking
Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
Team-oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability
Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time
