Rental Manager (Vail, CO)

Simba Run Vail Condominiums is a beautiful mountain resort lodging with amenities less than five minutes from Vail Mountain. Simba Run Rentals LLC, the in-house short term rental company is seeking a Rental Manager that will provide leadership and hands-on support for the day-to-day short-term rental operations.

The ideal applicant must demonstrate strong communication, management and leadership skills, as well as an ability to manage marketing initiatives and customer service with a high level of attentiveness, foresight and professionalism. 

Salary and Benefits:

The job is a salaried, exempt position. Pay scale is commensurate with experience (pay range is $55K – 75K), and bonus opportunity. Full medical coverage paid for, paid vacation, paid sick days, free onsite parking, and cell phone allowance.

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting expectations of Owners, coordinating contracts, equitable rental revenue distribution and communication.
  • Meet and exceed expectations of rental guests with consistent “end-to-end” rental experience, resolution of any guest or owner disputes, assure staff training to provide an exceptional guest experience.
  • Develop Brand Management marketing goals and objectives for the Rental Program, creation of seasonal or special marketing campaigns, target demographic and geographic segments, conduct competitive analysis and adjust plans accordingly, model optimized targets for Revenue, ADR and Occupancy, develop tools to monitor marketing effectiveness.
  • Timely responses to guest comments on social media, assure that marketing, promotional materials project a high standard, attend marketing events to maximize Simba Run resort awareness to the public.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager in meeting housekeeping goals and objectives, assist Guest Relations Manager in meeting Front Desk goals and objectives.
  • Maintain employment records, Employment Manual policies, and procedures, administer workers compensation claims.
  • Coordinate with SRR accountants assuring accurate time keeping records, processing of staff payroll, assure compliance with all Town of Vail ordinances on all Short-Term Rental issues.
  • Coordinate with SRR Treasurer to manage within the operating budget.
  • Arrange/Plan Rental Board Meetings quarterly, coordinate the Annual General Meeting.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts, Brand Management and Vail Valley knowledge and experience.
    Ability to read and interpret governing documents, vendor agreements, and contracts.
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts with an ability to read and understand financial statements, interpret, and modify budgets, forecasts, payroll, expense management and revenue management in conjunction with SRR Board.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and other business applications; RDP System, hospitality software knowledge and proficiency are required.
  • Spanish speaking capability is an asset. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associates degree or advanced study in business administration, hospitality management or related field of study is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of resort business management experience which included digital marketing skills, internet-based reservations systems use, social media management along with other relevant job experiences.
