Plans instruction and assessment around career and technical education program components within the health sciences pathway, and aligns with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards. . Courses taught include various introductions to the medical profession; Health Sciences I, Medical Terminology, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Health Sciences II (Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) preparation), and are designed to build knowledge and clinical skills within various health science careers.
The instructor must be a Registered Nurse and have occupational experience within the health sciences.
Teaching licensure is obtainable through the Colorado Department of Education CTE authorization to applicants who meet the educational and occupational requirements.
