The Sun Valley Dorm Security Agent provides protection of the resort property, maintains records, observes that all employees and guests stay within the guidelines of the resort policies and rules, monitors security and safety regulations violations through periodic inspections and takes appropriate action in the event of emergencies or irregularities following established procedures. Performs special assignments as requested or assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position is the night shift at the Sun Valley Dormitories from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
- Make periodic inspections of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment, and watch for and guard against fire, vandalism, illegal entry, safety infractions, disciplinary regulations, and enforcement of company rules.
- Patrol exits and entrances of buildings. Monitors company property and ensures the property is not removed without proper approvals.
- Enforce established parking regulations; maintain car identification files on all employees’ cars.
- Take appropriate action in case of accidents, death, or other emergencies, and submit proper reports of all incidents to a supervisor and Risk Management.
- Trained in and able to use fire protection knowledge in an emergency; make periodic inspections of the resort’s fire protection alarm system.
- Check-in new employees during after-hours. Issue bedding and dorm keys, and hand out dorm agreement slip.
- Check employee I.D. card and record information when police and dorm rules have been abused.
- Take employees to the hospital for medical emergencies.
- Perform special assignments as requested or assigned.
- Provide service functions through safe lockouts, noise complaints, lost items, lost and found etc.
Qualifications:
- Utilize knowledge gained through extensive and ongoing training in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
- Maintain a courteous and professional image with all employees, including management officials, guests, and visitors.
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Works well in group problem-solving situations.
- Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A firm grasp of the English language –the ability to read, write and speak – is mandatory.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold.
