Summary: The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for achieving the mission of Timberline,
through effective use of resources to provide adult day care programs to the community of
Summit County. Operating as the chief executive for the organization, the ED will be
responsible to secure funding from program fees and donations. The ED will manage the
program staff of nurses, care professionals and volunteers. The ED will be directly responsible
for all administrative aspects of the organization, including financials, Medicaid & VA
certifications and policies and procedures.
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning; Annual Budget and Operating Plan, and multi-year planning
Program Development & Delivery; Providing quality services to the diverse community of
participants
– Directly supervise program staff & volunteers for adult day care programming 4-5
days/week, Monday-Friday, 50 weeks/year.
– Develop and execute program participant individualized care plans.
Financial Management & Legal Compliance
– Annual budget development & fiscal management to plan
– Processing of program fees; Medicaid and related payments
Administrative & Human Resources Management
– Supervise administrative staff, employees and contractors
– Recruit and maintain personnel resources
Fundraising, Community Relations and Awareness
– Grant applications, donor relations and donor cultivation
– Manage Annual Development Plan to obtain needed funding and community support
Board of Directors Engagement & Development
– Assist the Board Chair with member recruitment and management of the volunteer board
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
• Demonstrated achievement in a leadership role as an executive or senior manager in the
non-profit sector
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced, diverse, and multicultural environment
• Fostering a collaborative environment to recruit, develop, and retain talented staff
• Thorough knowledge of and experience in non-profit management, including human
resources, budgeting, fundraising, board relations, resource allocation, auditing, asset
management, marketing/public relations, and program management
• Experience working with a Board of Directors or other governing body with policy,
operations, and fiduciary authority and responsibilities
• Demonstrated personnel management experience
• Fundraising experience, including individual donor cultivation, grant proposal writing,
corporate sponsorship cultivation, and special events management
• Working knowledge of technology to improve organizational efficiency and provide
innovative support to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and dementia
and their families
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in a human services or organizational management field (Public
Administration, Business Administration: Human Services, Social Work, Public Law, etc.)
preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance for state and federal requirements for adult day care
services.
• Experience with grant writing and donation solicitations preferred.
• Licensed health care provider preferred
• Two or more years of increasingly responsible leadership experience within the
social/human services sector, preferably with non-profit organizations, with demonstrated experience managing all areas of an organization, preferred.
• Timberline will consider a combination of education and experience.
