The GIS (Geographic Information System) Administrator designs, operates, oversees, and maintains the Town’s GIS. Develops and implements departmental GIS functions, services, policies, and strategies. Implements standards and procedures for GIS database and base map maintenance and administration. Serves as a GIS technical advisor to the Town departments and other organizations within the Town. Maintains liaisons with relevant regional, state, and national GIS activities, serving as the Town GIS representative. Develop and monitor the annual GIS budget and project budgets for the Department. Manages and prepares general planning for the GIS system. Develops complex GIS solutions to technical spatial issues using conceptual thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, detailed oriented, judgment, and decision-making. Responsible for collecting, editing, and maintaining geospatial datasets to meet Town needs. Create high-quality analytical and thematic maps or other cartographic products to meet the needs of internal and external Town clients. Provides training for GIS users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform responsibilities relating to installation, implementation, and design of the GIS system;
responsible for GIS database administration; analyzes, designs, creates, and advises departments
regarding future system requirements, enhancements, system capabilities, and infrastructure
configuration; design and make improvements to department and GIS databases to meet the needs of
Town staff and customers. - Design and maintain the Town Internet GIS site and the web server for distribution of GIS data to
internal and external customers. - Facilitate and conduct meetings between internal teams and users as well as outside entities; instruct
users as to the utility of the GIS system; create and maintain alliances with other agencies and
municipalities for current and future data-sharing relationships. Perform demonstrations of the GIS
system for various entities. - Design and implement GIS analyses using Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, and Network Analyst.
- Create and update layers within an ArcGIS SDE database while maintaining at least a minimum level
of data quality assurance. - Maintain current knowledge of cartography, GIS, remote sensing, visual communication, computer
information systems, and strategies. - Other duties as assigned.
