Position Title: Distribution & Collection Technician Trainee, I, II, III, IV

Pay Plan Title:  Maintenance Technician I, II, III, IV

Reports to/Department:  Utility Manager/Water & Wastewater

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime

Pre-Hire Requirements:  Must live within forty-five (45) miles from Town of Eagle Public Works Facility located at 1050 Chambers Avenue Eagle, Colorado.  Total travel time should exceed sixty (60) minutes at posted driving speeds.  This position requires passing of a pre-hire drug test, motor vehicle and a criminal background check.

Hiring Pay Range:  $23.63 – $37.98/hourly

Position Summary: Primary assignment is maintaining and operating the town’s Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System. The Water Distribution System includes maintaining and operating booster pump stations, operating and maintaining pressure release vaults, maintaining, and fixing fire hydrants, maintain water valves, fixing water leaks, water service taps, working with annual leak detection contractor, and assists with water plant facilities and water tanks. The Wastewater Collections System includes jetting wastewater collection mains, wastewater manhole inspections, fixing wastewater leaks, wastewater service taps, working or managing annual camera and jet contractor, and assists with wastewater plant facilities. May also perform a variety of routine and special activities for maintenance within the Public Works Department as conditions warrant.

Required Experience, Education and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years related construction experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License and be insurable under Town standards.
  • CDL Class “B” license preferred but not required

Hiring Ranges and level of certifications:

  • Technician I or Trainee, possess Water Distribution I and Wastewater Collection I Certification within 1 year of hire. $23.63 – $28.36 hourly DOQ, an offer above the hiring range may be considered based on experience maximum earning potential is $33.09 hourly
  • Maintenance Technician II, possess Water Distribution II and Wastewater Collection II Certification. $26.84 – $32.21 hourly DOQ, an offer above the hiring range may be considered based on experience, maximum earning potential is $38.65 hourly
  • Maintenance Technician III, possess Water Distribution III and Wastewater Collection III Certification. $29.64 – $35.57 hourly DOQ, an offer above the hiring range may be considered based on experience, maximum earning potential is $41.50 hourly
  • Maintenance Technician IV, possess Water Distribution IV and Wastewater Collection IV Certification. $31.65 – $37.98 hourly DOQ, an offer above the hiring range may be considered based on experience, maximum earning potential is $44.31 hourly

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full­time, benefits eligible position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Other hours to perform snowplow and other emergencies (water breaks, wastewater breaks, etc.) and support Special Events. This position requires the ability to provide on-call response (rotating) which may require evening and weekend hours.
