Position Summary:  Full-time, year-round positions with benefits.  Performs a variety of routine and special activities within the Public Works Department.

Streets: Duties include but are not limited to Snow Plowing (winter) and cindering of Town maintained roads, parking lots, pathways, etc.  Assists with routine fleet maintenance, including heavy equipment operations, sweeping, weed control and asphalt maintenance.  Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:  Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance, general construction practices, and standard safety practices.  Prefer experience with basic hand tools, heavy equipment and snow plowing equipment.  Ability to be “On Call” during non-regular hours to address snowplowing, water leaks, etc.  Ability to start snowplow work shift at 2:00 a.m., as required.

Pre-Hire Requirements: Ability to obtain a Colorado driver license within 3 months of hire and be insurable under Town standards. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.  Must live within forty-five (45) miles from Town of Eagle Public Works Facility located at 1050 Chambers Avenue Eagle, Colorado.  Total travel time should not exceed sixty (60) minutes at posted driving speeds.  This position requires passing of a motor vehicle and a criminal background check.

Maintenance Technician I – Hiring Range & Requirements:  6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred but will train the right candidate.  Some maintenance, landscaping or construction experience is helpful.  Ability to obtain CO Commercial driver’s license within 4-6 months of hire preferred.  Hiring Range:  $19.15 – $22.98/hour, based on qualifications.

Maintenance Technician II – Hiring Range & Requirements:  2-5 years’ experience in street maintenance or operating snowplows or heavy equipment or building, landscaping and irrigation maintenance.  Requires Co Class B Commercial drivers license.  Ability to use computer applications and electronic mail.  Hiring Range:  $22.95 – $27.54/hour, based on qualifications.
