Position Title:  Streets Maintenance Technician I or II

Reports to/Department: Public Works Manager, Streets

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime, full-time

Hiring Range: $20.83 – $32.21/Hourly, based on qualifications.

Pre-Hire Requirements: Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and be insurable under Town standards. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Must live within forty-five (45) miles from Town of Eagle Public Works Facility located at 1050 Chambers Avenue Eagle, Colorado.  Total travel time should not exceed sixty (60) minutes at posted driving speeds.  This position requires passing a pre-hire drug test, motor vehicle and a criminal background check.

Position Summary:   Full-time, year-round position with benefits.  Performs a variety of routine and special activities for the Public Works Streets Department. Duties include but are not limited to Snow Plowing (winter) and cindering of Town maintained roads, parking lots, pathways, etc.  Assists with routine fleet maintenance, including heavy equipment operations, sweeping, weed control and asphalt maintenance.  Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance, general construction practices, and standard safety practices.  Prefer experience with basic hand tools and operating snow plowing or heavy equipment.  Ability to be “On Call” during non-regular hours to address snowplowing, water leaks, etc.  Ability to start snowplow work shift at 3:00 a.m., as required.

 

Maintenance Technician I – Hiring Range & Requirements: 

Hiring Range:  $20.83 – $25.00/hour, based on qualifications. Requirements: 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred but will train the right candidate.  Some maintenance, landscaping or construction experience is helpful. Ability to obtain CO Commercial driver’s license within 6-9 months of hire preferred.

 

Maintenance Technician II – Hiring Range & Requirements:

Hiring Range:  $26.84 – $32.21/hour, based on qualifications. Requirements: 2-5 years’ experience in street maintenance operating snowplows or heavy equipment. Requires CO Class B Commercial driver’s license and ability to use computer applications and electronic mail.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position with health insurance benefits. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 7am – 4:30 pm and on Friday, we attempt to work ½ day.
  • Ability to be “On Call” and responsive to snowplow or water leak emergencies starting at 3;00 a.m. as required.  May work some evening and weekend events.
