The Housing Program Coordinator, under the general direction of the Program Director, coordinates the administrative and operational functions of the implementation of short and long-range capital projects, programs, and plans. Housing Program Coordinator Full Job Description (PDF) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Coordination

  • Provides specialized administrative support in the development and implementation of program/project function areas of housing, planning, and stewardship of open space, and other capital projects.
  • Acts as liaison to contractors, consultants, and project partners to communicate and help define requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Coordinates activities of contract partners, consultants, staff, and or trail crew volunteers as directed to implement program objectives
  • May supervise seasonal staff and direct scope of work of trail crews
  • Coordinates with the Public Outreach Admin for outreach on projects with public impacts
  • Assists with contract compliance for specifications, time, and budget parameters

Administration

  • Implements effective operational/administrative policies and procedures specific to the achievement of the objectives of the program
  • Participates in the development of funding proposals for the program including grant or proposal writing
  • Performs administrative tasks such as writing, editing, and coordinating the development of RFPs, educational materials, newsletters, graphic aids, and public notices
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in planning, business, public administration, or directly related field preferred; equivalent education or experience considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of budgeting and cost control, familiarity with planning principles, maps, zoning, architectural blueprints; environmental science and record maintenance; excel and other software applications used to analyze statistical data; advanced writing and editorial skills; familiarity with the grant application process. Skill in coordinating and organizing resources; seeking out information; establishing priorities and adapting to changing priorities; ability to coordinate and organize meetings and making administrative and procedural decisions and judgments; strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively navigate a wide range of community interests. Environmental Factors Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work is primarily in a standard office environment and in and around Town buildings and facilities. Work performed outdoors is in Town Open Spaces and on Town project sites. Challenges include interruptions, changing deadlines, and dynamic community interest. Physical Factors While performing the duties of this job, the employee will walk, stand, and is often required to sit for extended periods of time; may occasionally be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
