As an Emergency Communications Specialist, you will be at the heart of our state-of-the-art communication facility in Vail, CO, dispatching emergency service calls 24/7, 365 days a year for 13 public safety agencies in Eagle County. Your work ensures the safety of our community by supporting Police, Fire, and EMS agencies through advanced phone and radio systems.

Your Responsibilities:
Handle Emergency Calls: Receive, analyze, and prioritize 911 and non-emergent calls for Police, Fire, and EMS services.
Provide Life-Saving Instructions: Perform Emergency Medical Dispatch and guide callers through life-saving procedures over the phone.
Utilize Advanced Technology: Effectively use a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to prioritize calls, document incidents, and monitor responder status.
Support Public Safety Agencies: Distribute calls, monitor radio traffic, access confidential records, and send emergency alerts to the public.
Qualifications We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or Equivalent: A foundational requirement for this role.
Multi-Tasking and Thriving in Fast-Paced Environments: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a high-pressure setting.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to maintain emotional control and professionalism in stressful situations.
Empathy and Compassion: A genuine desire to help others, with the emotional intelligence to show empathy in challenging circumstances.
Strong Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer use and typing, essential for managing dispatch systems.
Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnight.
Preferred Experience:
Guest Service, Call Center, or Emergency Services Experience: Previous experience in these areas is a plus and will help you excel in this role.
