POSITION PURPOSE: 

Responsible for patient-facing registration and associated tasks which include information collection, validation, and requisitioning of orders and services. Insurance-related tasks include verification, collection of co-payments, and associated paperwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

-Obtains and verifies patient information for registration. Consistently demonstrates dedication to customer service by meeting patients needs in a flexible and responsible manner.

-Requests payment of financial responsibility from patient/guarantor.

-Obtains federally-required and hospital-required consent for conditions of admissions.

-Posts monies collected and/or data entry of charge codes to the financial system.

-Supports and participates in all departmental data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts as required by internal and external compliance regulations. -May reconcile daily bank bags.

-Works in various patient settings and locations. For example Beaver Creek, Eagle etc.

-Perform Switchboard/operator and bed control functions as needed.

-Must be able to work a complete Night Shift and take night call when necessary.

-Helps to train and educate new staff.

-Model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

-Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

Experience in healthcare, previous admitting, clerical, customer service, or hospitality preferred.

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Education:

Course work in Medical Terminology preferred.
