Bike Mechanic

Venture Sports in Avon, CO is hiring for an experienced Bike Mechanic. The ideal candidate is accurate, energetic, and friendly. We cater to a wide variety of guests ranging from casual riders to road and mountain bike racers, while continuing to have a community-wide reputation for great service. You will be responsible for estimating repairs, completing overhauls and quick walk-in repairs, assembling new bikes, and recommending products that will enhance the customer’s overall cycling experience. Remaining current with product lines, trends and new technology will be a vital requirement.

Bike Mechanic Responsibilities:

• VIP Customer Service
• Determine customer equipment needs and make product recommendations for both rental and retail equipment
• Service and repair customer bikes and rental fleet daily
• Build new bikes delivered from the manufacturer
• Expertly diagnose and estimate repair needs in a friendly and respectful manner
• Resolve customer problems efficiently and tactfully
• Answer phones/emails as needed
• Restocking retail as needed
• Maintaining a clean and organized workbench and shared workspace
• Complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with bike products and applications
• Organizing both retail and rental merchandise back stock
• Soft Goods and Accessory sales

Requirements

• 2+ years of prior bike mechanic experience
• Ability to complete a full suspension rebuild
• Ability to build a bike from the frame up
• Ability to perform wheel builds
• Currently living in Eagle County (Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, Gypsum, Minturn) with reliable transportation to/from work
• Proficient in English – Speaking, reading & writing
• A varied schedule will include holidays, weekdays, weekends
• Strong communication skills
• Must be punctual and on time for work
• Able to lift/carry upwards of 50 lbs
• Excellent time management skills
• Proactive and self-starter that uses time effectively
• Must have an outgoing, friendly personality with exceptional customer service skills
• Current knowledge of the brands we carry (Giant, Liv, Pinarello, Yeti)
• Must have basic computer skills
• Organized, clean, and able to work in a shared work space
• Passionate end-user: cycling, mountain biking, mechanically inclined, etc
