The Corporate Partnerships & Special Events Manager is a full-time year-round position that will report to the Director of Development. This person is passionate about connecting corporate philanthropy and sponsorship to Walking Mountains programs and events in ways that provide value for the business and achieve operational revenue targets. This creative, dedicated and experienced professional is an event “pro” with a “can-do” and understands the importance of special events in cultivating existing donors and attracting new ones.  This position works closely with the development team, as well as with program departments and external partners and vendors to design and produce donor events ranging from private guided hikes and small dinners to the annual gala (A Taste of Nature) and the newest fundraising and community engagement event, Climb It for Climate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Corporate Sponsorships

·Maintain and grow corporate partnerships through a strategic approach including the sales process, enhancing brand recognition, sponsorship reporting and relationship-building

·Meet or exceed sponsorship goals for events and general corporate philanthropy

·Create and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans (“moves management”) for all corporate prospects and current sponsors Special Events

·Manage donor events and sponsor activations that engage participants in our mission, create connections within our donor/sponsor community, and imbue a sense of pride in supporting Walking Mountains

·Manage the planning and execution of our two signature fundraisers: A Taste of Nature (annual gala, 7/6/23) and Climb It for Climate (9/23/23) working closely with teammates, internal cross-functional teams, consultants, and vendors to exceed timelines and budgets

·Project manage the planning and execution of a variety of development events throughout the year including monthly EdVentures (for donors $1,000+), private events, and cultivation events (e.g. Corporate Happy Hour, Hiking Club Happy Hour, Holiday Open House)

Administrative

·Meet or exceed budget expectations for corporate sponsorship and special events; develop and maintain budget worksheets and revenue projections

·Take ownership of all corporate sponsorship benefits fulfillment, working closely with marketing

·Maintain corporate sponsor and prospect records in CRM database Additional

Duties and Responsibilities

·Participate in regular development team meetings, leadership team, and all-staff meetings

·Attend community events to forge relationships with donors and partners

·Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

·Excels in bottom-line, revenue driven roles tied to fundraising goals with demonstrated success

·Experienced project manager proficient in communication of timelines and expectations with internal and external stakeholders

·Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential

·Strong computer skills and ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Bloomerang (donor database), Google Suite, Zoom

·This role requires input from many stakeholders but the successful candidate will be comfortable drafting event visions, project plans, and budgets independently

· Ability to effectively work on diverse teams or with a diverse range of people

·Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

· Note: This role may require the ability to lift up to 50lbs independently and setup/breakdown events in inclement weather or on uneven terrain

Work Environment

·The job primarily is located in the Avon office with offsite meetings and occasional events

·Evening and weekends are sometimes required
