Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller/Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities for our vacation rental properties and homeowners associations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial management. The position requires on-site presence to effectively collaborate with our team, owners, and manage our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a timely basis
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for both the management company and homeowners’ associations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws. Prepare and file tax returns and other financial documents.
Audit Management: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
System Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and accounting software enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
On-Site Collaboration: Work on-site to effectively collaborate with the staff, owners, and manage day-to-day operations.
Capital Planning: Develop and implement capital planning strategies to ensure the long-term financial health and sustainability of our properties and homeowners associations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance with a focus on property management and homeowners associations.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software e.g., QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Availability to work on-site for a set number of hours per week.
