Rebar Fabricator/Yard Manager

We are a well established Construction Supply company that has been around since 1972. We are currently looking for a Yard manager/Rebar Fabricator to join our team.

Job Summary

Manager of our rebar fabrication and concrete yard. You will be responsible for cutting and bending of rebar with machines to customers specs. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Pulling and loading concrete form and accessories rentals. Managing additional yard workers. Inventory control of materials.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Fabricates rebar as determined by work order specifications. Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties.
• Having basic math skills is essential.
• Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
• Receive and fill concrete form rentals helping customers fulfil what measurements they need.
• Must be able to operate forklift or loader to complete tasks including loading and unloading trucks with rebar/wire mesh/lumber/concrete forms.
• Communicate with salesman regularly for timing of all orders.
• Maintains condition of work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
• Communicate inventory needs for yard to purchasing manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

• Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (100+ pounds) or awkward.

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in concrete construction or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rebar fabrication equipment.
• Experience with concrete forming and accessories
• Metal working experience preferred.
• The job is physically demanding, pulling rebar, wire mesh, lumber and other products to fulfill customer orders.
