COILSx: In the Mountains Brings Colorado Industry Leaders to Breckenridge

DENVER, March xx, 2017 – COILSx, the Colorado Industry Leadership Summit, heads to Breckenridge, Colo. on Friday, April 7 for a day of insightful panels, active networking and an inspiring keynote speech from Colorado’s Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne.  The Mountain stop of the COILSx series will be focusing on Colorado’s central mountain region and topics related to public lands, outdoor recreation, recreational technology and innovation.  All relevant outdoor industry leaders, nonprofits, start-ups, businesses and organizations in the region are welcome to attend.

The day will kick off with an 8 am coffee hour at Main Street Station, followed by on-snow networking (skiing, riding, FAT biking) at Breckenridge.  Lunch at Main Street Station will feature a keynote speech from Lt. Gov. Lynne, who will provide insight gained from an extensive background of executive leadership in the private sector and several roles in public service.  Lynne’s accolades include the Denver Business Journal’s 2008 Outstanding Women in Business Award; she has also climbed all of Colorado’s Fourteeners.

The first afternoon panel will focus on Conservation & Stewardship, featuring Bill Jackson (US Forest Service), Maddie Rehn (Project Director of The Mountain Pact), Scott Ledin (Grand County) and Jessie Burley (Community Programs Director at High Country Conservation Center).  The second panel will switch gears and concentrate on Innovation.

Auden Schendler (Sustainability Aspen Skiing Company), Lanny Goldwasser (Founder of Phunkshun Wear), Mike Keshian (Founder and CEO of LuvByrd), Tommy Knoll (Colorado Innovators) and Jake Roach (QuietKat e-bikes).  Following the panel discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to break off into interactive ‘working sessions’, where groups will take a deep dive into relevant topics and come away with action items to implement in their businesses and communities.

The State of Colorado’s Outdoor Recreation Office created COILS – a statewide gathering of outdoor industry leaders – and is now helping to organize regional gatherings throughout the state.
