Mountain employers can reach the best candidates and impact their community

Is it really possible for a job board to make an impact on a community? I wanted to speak straight from the heart about why we believe Mountain Careers and local employers together can change living and working in the mountains.

Employers, imagine having the ability to reach professionals in Aspen, Vail, Summit County, Mammoth, Tahoe, Park City, Jackson Hole, Steamboat, Telluride — the list goes on.

Imagine that this same list also includes talented “city slickers” who dream of moving to the mountains because they have a passion for the outdoors and are willing to relocate for the right job (not just any job).

Aha – our goal is to create this list of professionals and we believe it will make an impact!  At Mountain Careers we have designed our process/brand to attract mountain enthusiast in all regions to sign-up for our weekly newsletter and provide us with their email address. Employers then post their year-round, career driven opportunities on our site which is emailed out every Monday morning to this growing list of professionals.

The impact of this process:

  1. Supports professionals to find better paying jobs so they can afford to live in high cost resort areas. Posting salary jobs in one central location helps people find better opportunities.
  2. Provides professionals with career progression even where opportunities may be limited. By connecting all mountain towns it makes it possible for professionals to move between regions to gain the leadership/growth experience they need to advance in their careers.
  3. Helps retain and grow talent in these growing communities by changing the perception of work in mountain towns. Every professional job that is posted helps educate the public about the incredible organizations in our mountain towns. We want the next generation of leaders to stay — not move because they believe there is no opportunity.
  4.  Lastly, in a small community we want all businesses to succeed. This allows businesses to attract the best and brightest by broadening employers advertising reach at an affordable rate. No need to post in three separate newspapers to reach your neighboring mountain town.
