Startup Colorado and Mountain Careers Launch New Job Board For Rural Businesses

COLORADO – A new partnership between Startup Colorado and Mountain Careers will provide a hub for rural employers to connect with high-skilled job seekers. Through this first-of-its-kind partnership, 10 rural employers from across the state will receive a free job posting on Mountain Careers.

“We know hiring can be the hardest part of running a business in rural and mountain areas and our platform helps make this easier for businesses,” says Aryn Schlichting, Founder of Mountain Careers. “Partnering with Startup Colorado allows us to expand our current model into more areas and to help innovation, businesses and professionals thrive.” 

The new job board can be accessed through MountainCareers.com and via the Startup Colorado Network at StartupColorado.org.

Mountain Careers was founded in 2015 as a way to connect professionals with the growing number of job opportunities in rural Colorado. Startup Colorado is an outreach program with the University of Colorado that supports rural entrepreneurship and small business development.

In 2020, Startup Colorado launched an online network platform to help connect the state’s growing community of rural entrepreneurs with the business resources required to start and scale their business.

“Startup is a verb, not a noun and the challenges that come with starting up a business in rural Colorado often include finding qualified talent for your company,” says Taylor Grande, Western Director at Startup Colorado.

“We now have a job board completely dedicated to rural startup employers and I couldn’t be more excited to see this partnership grow and evolve. If you’re a remote worker looking for your next startup gig, this job board is for you.”

The job board will go live on Monday, March 15th. The launch will also feature a free virtual event on March 23rd from 4-5pm. The event will include a panel discussion about the trends and opportunities for employers and job seekers in rural Colorado; featuring Taylor Grande, Jamie Finney (Partner at Greater Colorado Venture Fund), and Aryn Schlichting.
