Stories of mountain towns professionals: Justin, CoFounder REVER

#featurefriday Real stories of professionals in the mountains! Meet Justin, CoFounder REVER in Eagle, CO.

Tell us your story…
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I paid my way through college by painting houses, it wasn’t glamorous but it gave me an appreciation for being my own boss. Since then I’ve done real estate development in Chile, marketing for brands like Red Bull, started a company that published maps, written stories for motorcycle magazines, rode around the world on a motorcycle and most recently started a VC backed tech company building apps (REVER) for powersports enthusiasts.

When did you move to the mountains?
I grew up in Vail, traveled the world, lived in various cities (and countries) and quickly realized that there is no better lifestyle than mountain life.

Why do you love the mountains?
We don’t have a single traffic light in Eagle. Not one. My kids ride their bikes to elementary school on a flow/pump trail. When it’s cold we ski pow, when it’s hot we ride single-track or float the river that I can see from the office window.

Do you have advice for someone looking to move here?
The lifestyle is incredible if its a fit for you. It’s not for everybody. General living expenses are high so you really have to value the outdoors and accept that access to things like shopping malls, and restaurants are not limitless. I’d also say get involved in the community as soon as you can. Free concerts, festivals, there is always something happening that will allow you to plug in and meet people.

Mountain Careers learned more about REVER on their website…REVER has a team of 6 professionals. ‘Every single person here rides and we are proud to be building a modern tech company from a small Colorado town, where access to trails, roads and the mountains give us a daily excuse to product test.’
