Salary, Time Off & Perks

Job Description:
Black Tie Ski Rentals in Vail & Beaver Creek is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our ski and bike rental business. The General Manager will lead and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including customer service, inventory management, hiring, staff training & community outreach. The staff comprises 20-30 employees during winter and 5- 7 during summer. The ideal candidate is a genuine leader with a strong background in operations management, a passion for outdoor recreation, and the ability to lead a team in providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the ski and bike rental business, ensuring smooth and efficient rental processes. This includes the management of the delivery and reservations departments.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate equipment maintenance, and ensure proper storage and organization of rental gear.
- Responsible for staff & reservation schedules with support Team Leaders.
- Oversee and carry out all delivery best practices and procedures established with hotel partners to ensure smooth experience for customer, staff and hotel teams.
2. Customer Service:
- Maintain a customer-centric approach and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Filling in scheduling gaps in both the Delivery & Reservations Department to ensure customer needs are always met.
3. Staff Management & HR:
- Handle all aspects of personnel management, including recruitment, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations with the support of Team Leaders.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
- Support in the planning & execution of staff gatherings & events.
4. Partnerships & Sales
- Alongside Ownership, develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and increase rental bookings.
- Alongside Ownership build and maintain relationships with key partners, such as ski resorts, bike trails, hotels, and tour operators.
- Participate in community events and initiatives to promote the organization’s reputation and values.
- Support marketing efforts & partnership activations brought on both locally & by the LLC to support brand awareness & increase sales.
Represents company at local functions & networking events.
5. Administrative & General Oversite
- Oversee maintenance and security of facilities and equipment for both shops in Avon & Lionshead.
- Responsible for management of shipping and receiving of equipment.
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance of fleet
Requirements:
- Experience in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the outdoor recreation or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The knowledge & ability to mount skis & build bikes, as well as the ability to tune both skis & bikes, is preferred but not required.
- Passion for outdoor activities such as skiing and biking, with knowledge of equipment and destinations.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
