Play a vital role in contributing to the exceptional administration of elections in Eagle County! Reporting to the Elections Operations Manager, the Elections Tech II supports the Elections team and independently oversees designated election administration processes. Responsibilities include conducting year-round election operations in accordance with State and Federal laws, collaborating with the team for upcoming election cycles, and providing exceptional voter service in a non-partisan manner. Hiring Range: $29.33-$35.19. The maximum pay for this position is $41.06.

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Overtime is required during the ~ 2 months leading up to each election. Election Day is a long day (6 am-after midnight). During non-election times, the elections team has flexibility that allows for working from home, flexible hours, training opportunities, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate smooth voter registration and equipment operation
  • Direct and supervise election judges.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide voter support
  • Adhere to strict legal and procedural guidelines
  • Manage records for special districts and public notices.
  • Assist in setting up the Vote Center and Central Count before each election.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Work Experience – Two (2) years of full-time work experience in administration, government, event planning, project management, accounting, education, or related fields, demonstrating transferable skills. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong organizational abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capability to analyze complex data. They should be adept at both independent and collaborative work.
  • Preferred Education – Associate’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail
  • Technical proficiency with software and hardware that can translate to voting equipment and voter registration programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • High ethical standards and discretion
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
