Senior Project Manager – Luxury Custom Homes
Salary: $140,000 - $190,000 per year, DOE
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Vail Valley, CO
Publish Date: Posted October 17, 2026
Avon, CO (Vail Valley) | Full-time, in person | $140,000-$190,000 DOE | Local hire
About the role
Coleman Custom Homes builds high-end custom homes and major remodels in the Vail Valley. We are growing, and we are adding a third Senior Project Manager to own a portfolio of projects – the budget, the schedule, the design team and the client – from preconstruction through Certificate of Occupancy and warranty.
You will work directly with the Managing Partner. There is no layer of regional management between you and the decision, and there is a real path from this seat to Construction Operations Manager and Director of Construction.
What you will do
- Build and defend project budgets from preconstruction estimate through buyout; level bids and recommend awards
- Keep a live estimate-to-complete so nobody learns about an overrun from an invoice
- Price every change and get it approved before the work is done
- Review and sign off the monthly owner draw on each of your projects
- Own the master schedule with your superintendents; release long-lead items early
- Run submittals and RFIs to closure in ConstructionOnline
- Run the weekly owner-architect-contractor meeting and write the owner update
- Lead the superintendents on your projects and hold subcontractors to scope
- Carry each project through CO, punch list, closeout and warranty
What we are looking for
We are not posting a years-of-experience requirement. Here is what we actually need:
- You have been the accountable PM on at least one complex high-end residential project from preconstruction to CO – the number and the date were yours
- You keep a live cost forecast and can explain a job that finished on it, and one that did not
- You price changes before the work happens, every time
- You can write a homeowner a short, clear, warm note about a cost overrun
- You run a good OAC meeting and earn the respect of serious architects
- You run a job from cloud tools and use (or learn fast) AI tools in daily work
Helpful but not required: resort or mountain construction; Eagle County and Town of Vail permitting and design review; estimating depth; Spanish.
Our process
We test the actual work. After a short call you will get a take-home exercise built from a real project – about 90 minutes – and finalists walk a live job with us.
Compensation and benefits
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year, depending on experience.
Annual performance bonus. Health insurance contribution. Mileage reimbursement. Cell phone allowance. Paid time off and holidays. Quarterly leadership development scorecard with a defined promotion path.
This is a local hire: you already live within a daily commute of Avon. We do not offer relocation or housing assistance. Office in Avon; projects across Vail, Beaver Creek, Edwards, Cordillera and Arrowhead.
Application window closes November 23, 2026.
