The Economic Services Operations Manager is a leader responsible for managing a team that delivers critical public assistance programs. They ensure quality service by effectively using resources, leading their team, and collaborating with others. This role requires a human-centered approach to complex situations and strong leadership skills to achieve the department’s goals.

Economic Services (a division within the Department of Human Services) is responsible for administering a range of critical public assistance programs including Cash, Child Care, Emergency, Energy, Food and Medical Assistance, as well as connecting customers to other vital resources and supports.

The Economic Services Operations Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties. They manage staff, ensure high-quality service delivery, and oversee training and development. The role requires leadership, problem-solving, and knowledge of public assistance programs.

In this dynamic role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Management: Overseeing staff performance, setting expectations, and creating a positive work environment.
  • Service Delivery: Ensuring programs are delivered efficiently and meeting customer needs.
  • Training and Development: Creating and implementing training plans to develop staff skills.
  • Knowledge of Public Assistance Programs: Understanding program rules and regulations.

This is a complex role that requires a strong leader with a human-centered approach.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social work, social sciences, public administration, business administration or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Master’s Degree in related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience; four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in human services or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year effectively managing, collaborating, and facilitating teams in either a fully remote or hybrid workplace.
  • Any of the following certifications preferred: Lean Six Sigma, Prosci ADKAR, PMP, Disciplined Agile, executive leadership.
  • The position may require travel to service locations within Eagle County and may require travel to regional or state training, meetings, or events within/outside of Colorado; a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background investigation. Reliable transportation is required.
