FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR | YOUTHPOWER365

The Family Engagement Coordinator position is part of a team of staff and partners developing and implementing a family-centered youth violence prevention program. This project has been funded with federal dollars for three years, with the option to renew it. This position will work with YouthPower365 (YP365) and its partners to engage and support families/caregivers of students in Eagle County Schools. The ideal candidate will be committed to strengthening family-school-community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement family engagement programs and initiatives that promote family involvement in a way that recognizes and respects the diversity of families and communities served. 
  • Conduct workshops, training, and informational sessions for families, educators, and community members on topics related to family engagement that are culturally responsive and inclusive. 
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships and collaborations with schools, community organizations, local agencies, and other stakeholders to create a network of support for families. 
  • Coordinate joint initiatives and activities to address the diverse needs of families and promote positive outcomes for children. 
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to families facing challenges or seeking assistance in accessing resources and services that considers cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic differences. 
  • Collect, Report, and Analyze Data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of family engagement efforts and identify areas for improvement.  
    Support referrals and planning components of the family-centered youth violence prevention program.
  • Attend YouthPower365 staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth and families/caregivers.  
  • Experience with middle school and high school students and families preferred.
  • Knowledge of protective factors and their importance.
  • Knowledgeable of resources and services in the local community and school systems. 
  • Confident in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and email. Must be willing to grow technology skills. 
  • Experience working with diverse families and communities, preferably in an educational or social services setting. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families, colleagues, and community partners. 
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively. 
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of individuals from various backgrounds. 
  • Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and social justice in all aspects of work. 
  • Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.  

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position eligible for all VVF employment benefits.

Compensation: $29 an hour with a four-day work week.
