SENIOR REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a full-time real-estate accountant to join our team!   You will assist with the accounting and tax return preparation for our numerous commercial properties, as well as the accounting for our construction company and Homeowner Associations.
 
Responsibilities include:

-Create detailed journal entries and post them to the general ledger.
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end working papers including full balance sheet reconciliation, ledger and sub-ledger journal entries, supporting financial and operational statements, and any required variance analysis.
-Track and monitor cash accounts
-Ability to work within accounts receivable and accounts payable systems, as needed for year-end reconciliations or to assist A/R or A/P staff or other accountants.
-Assist with periodic reporting of property operations and presentation to ownership.
-Working with outside lenders and vendors to provide required compliance information.
-Notarize Documents 
-Working directly with QuickBooks and AppFolio real estate accounting software.
-Assist with investment accounting for ownership entities. 
-Assist with accounting for other assets or investments owned by individual ownership groups.
-Assist with document accumulation and basic information needed to prepare accounting reports and tax preparation for owners and their groups.

Position Requirements:

-Accounting degree and/or relevant industry experience (2 years or more) with property accounting, Cam and expense reconciliations, and completion of year end accounting prior to preparation of entity tax returns.  
-The successful candidate will have the ability to balance numerous tasks and to assign and change priorities as needed.
-Strong communication skills are key, including the ability to work with people up and down the organization, including sometimes with owners.   We love input from our staff on how we can accomplish our tasks better or more efficiently.

This is an office-based position, working remotely is not an option as the daily collaboration of staff is crucial for success.
