Become an Energy Program Outreach Assistant? You’ll be the friendly face and voice that helps individuals from all walks of life access energy efficiency and weatherization retrofits that make homes more comfortable, but that also save energy and reduce emissions.  Want to make an immediate and tangible difference for climate action while helping your neighbors?  This might be right for you.

Your main task will be guiding clients through the multi-step application process, ensuring all forms are completed accurately. Your ability to assess each client’s unique circumstances against program eligibility criteria will be key and it requires ability to learn several program and a keen attention to detail. Can you effectively communicate complex information by phone, text, and email? Would you be excited about representing the program at in-person outreach events like community resource fairs, where you’ll spread the word about how income-qualified individuals can access energy retrofits for their homes?  What’s an energy retrofit – think insulation, HVAC system upgrades, or just air sealing leaks and cracks that let cold/hot air in or out to help save energy.  The Energy Program field crews you’ll support, the folks that do the installations and retrofits, well, they are pretty amazing with ingenious fixes and troubleshooting systems.

If you’re eager to assist Northwest Colorado residents in weatherizing their homes (at no cost to them), this is the role for you. There are a bunch of different programs in different counties, and even more eligibility details to navigate, but everyone on the team of about 25 installers and a handful of office staff find the challenge to be rewarding. If you are committed to making a positive difference, this in-person or possible hybrid position might be the perfect fit.
