The Sonnenalp is looking to hire a Full-Time Year Round Staff Accountant

Wage: $61K – $66K annual with up to 10% bonus potential

Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries
  • Posting of employee payroll deductions for rents and security deposits
  • Review of pre-transmission payroll reports
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
  • Support collection activities and assist with AR functions
  • Review and correct daily integration variances as needed
  • Ensure gift cards are processed in gift card medium, and make corrections as necessary
  • Ensure tips are correctly reported and any adjustments are communicated to managers
  • Support team on month-end closing procedures
  • Positive contributor to the team by supporting and participating in special projects as needed

Education/Experience

  • BS in Accounting with 2-4 years of related work experience is preferred
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • 2 years professional experience in accounting and finance; specifically with accounts receivable and payroll required

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Strong understanding of components of balance sheet and income statements and the effect of journal entries on these statements.
  • Solid understanding of receivables, payables, and computerized accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Able to handle a high volume and work in a fast-paced environment while producing consistent and accurate results
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally with guests, vendors, co-workers, department managers
  • Open to development of skills and knowledge

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
