About Us:

The Cycle Effect is non-profit that empowers young women through mountain biking to achieve brighter futures and build stronger communities. We break down economic and social barriers to help local girls succeed. We provide up to 80 days of programming to middle and high school girls from February through October. We equip our girls with goal setting and college readiness, leadership skills, career development, self-esteem, grit, perseverance, outdoor education, leave-no-trace ethics, community service opportunities and more.

The person we are looking for will:

Have a working knowledge of mountain biking, trail riding and training skills (or be willing to learn asap)
Have strong leadership experience to drive every aspect of a team of 20-30 girls of varying skill and ability levels and supervise 2-4 assistant coaches
Ensure all mentorship guidelines are met by implementing our 2018 curriculum remotely (via Google Classroom) and in-person (training, on-trail, races and trips)
Maintain all equipment and work cooperatively and in a timely fashion with bike maintenance shops
Keep athletes safe and continually improving on their bikes
Maintain high parental involvement including communication, volunteering, potlucks, races, etc.
Accurately track paperwork, registration, attendance (at every practice) and surveys (quarterly basis)
Coordinate 2-4 additional coaches at every practice and event
Be able to drive and park company vans and trailers for practices and events

Top candidates will be positive, fun & energetic personalities that have an interest in mountain biking with a strong desire to learn and improve. You are a leader that is reliable, dependable and committed to the success of young women but also understanding, caring and compassionate in challenging environments.

You must:

Be at least 21 years old
Have a High School diploma or equivalent
Hold a Colorado state Driver’s License and reside in Summit County
Commit to the January-October 2018 season with 6-10 hours/week including some weekend races, extended team building trips and potentially 2-3 off-season youth recruiting/fun events
Be able to lift 50 pounds and ride a bike for a minimum of 3 hours
Have or be able to obtain your First-Aid CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment (we help with this)
Have a contagious positive attitude
