The IT Help Desk Technician provides the first point of contact for employees regarding information technology related problems with Office365, multi-function printers or trouble ticket inquiries to resolve or escalate IT systems issues and problems. Responds to and diagnoses a wide range of questions and problems associated with the general use of workstation, laptops, Microsoft Office 365 suites and vendor-provided departmental mission critical software systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Technical Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for all IT-related issues and respond to and diagnose a wide range of questions and problems associated with workstation, laptops, Microsoft Office suites, and vendor-provided departmental mission-critical software systems.
- Active Directory Management: Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory (AD). Set up new employee accounts, modify existing accounts, and ensure proper access levels based on job roles.
- Computer Setup and Maintenance: Configure and install new computers as per the Town’s equipment replacement policy. Assist in performing routine maintenance, software upgrades/updates, and maintaining coverage for the Town’s server systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of IT support activities, equipment inventory, and user requests. Generate status reports and escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of technical developments through participation in seminars, conferences, and self-study programs. Adapt and learn new technologies to enhance existing computer systems and software.
- May perform other related duties as assigned, frequently being involved in special projects.
