YouthPower365 is seeking a part time coordinator for Girl PowHER to provide support for Girl PowHER programs at each middle school site. With YouthPower365 resources and support, this part time position works with school site coordinators and Girl PowHER instructors. The Girl PowHER Coordinator will support curriculum creation and implementation, materials, equipment, and healthy snacks. This role also helps make connections between participants and high school mentors. The coordinator also helps to ensure the afterschool experience is both a positive environment and a meaningful opportunity for teachers, students, families. A qualified candidate will have experience in youth development programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily logistics for Girl PowHER programs
  • Provide onsite support for Girl PowHER programs
  • Management of program supplies and equipment
  • Submit and track expenses
  • Check in’s with instructors and coordinators at each middle school site
  • Collaborate with Middle School After School Explorer programming, The CLUB and soccer for scheduling
  • Collaborate with other programs to identify and strengthen transitions to and from middle school programs
  • Attend trainings to gain further understanding of gender specific programming
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Attendance and assistance in set up/break down at work and school related events
  • Connect with monolingual Spanish and English families (or arrange for the equivalent)
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment in all situations
  • Report program operations to upper management

Requirements:

Competencies of a great candidate are as follows:

  • Highly organized, and able to balance the schedules and needs of up to four school sites
  • Strong problem-solving skills, while being able to adapt and be creative when changes occur
  • Knowledge of public school and OST (out of school time) systems
  • Familiarity with middle school age learning and development stages
  • Work experience with youth and/or nonprofits
  • Previous experience working and excelling in a fast paced, multi-level, project-based environment with emphasis on timelines, quality, and delivery
  • Capable of remaining focused and calm under stressful situations
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions independently and with little supervision
  • Team approach and willingness to assist others when called upon
  • A strengths-based approach to youth and families
  • Practice in positive youth development and learning strategies
  • Understanding of state licensing rules and regulations for childcare programs

Additional preferred skills include:

  • Experience with middle school aged children and/or a background in education
  • Conversational in Spanish and English (preferred)
