APN Lodge is hiring a Medical Assistant/ Med Tech in Edwards, CO.
$3000 Sign on Bonus for Full-time!

In this position, you will work directly with the medical providers at APN to help with administrative duties including but not limited to scheduling patient appointments; tracking patient appointments, needs and concerns; and following up with lab results. Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients’ health history

You may also work with nursing, physicians, clinical staff, and external pharmacy staff to assist clients to self-administer prescribed medications, supervise and document self-administered medication, maintain counts of meds, order refills and med changes, notify providers of medication compliance or other medication issues, and communicate with nursing regarding client medication routine and need for assessment or education.  Understanding MD med orders and general knowledge of medications is a must, along with a high attention to detail and organization.

LPN, LVN or MA are all acceptable qualifications for this position.  Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred. Must display excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be detail-oriented and highly organized. Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies. Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures. Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Education:   High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred or appropriate certification.

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience preferred working as a medical assistant with medications in a professional capacity.  Prefer experience in Behavioral Health.

Special Skills & Knowledge: Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: Understand MD orders, efficient and organized documentation, ability to communicate with clients therapeutically, understanding of medications.

Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Medical Assistant

  • Scheduling and tracking of patient appointments
  • Prepare patients for appointments
  • Relay patient needs and concerns to medical providers
  • Monitor and following up on patient lab results
  • Maintain appropriate lab logs
  • Manage equipment and supply inventories
  • Serve as a liaison between medical providers and patients
  • Other duties as assigned that are within scope of practice

Med Tech

  • Perform and record vital signs, detect changes in symptoms, alert nurse when abnormal
  • Perform CIWA/COWS scores as appropriate
  • Observe and record self-administered medications in an efficient and effective manner
  • Understand physician orders, clarify as necessary, communicate with pharmacy and insurance
  • Count medications regularly, maintain inventories effectively and securely
  • Other duties as assigned that are within scope of practice
